January 25th Progress

A lot has changed in a week.  There is only one small portion of the detailed stone left to put up on the north side of the temple.
It looks a lot more balanced today.  No more lopsided stone.

While I was there this morning, these workers were getting ready to lift the last portions of decorative stone to the top of the temple.  I sat and waited for a few minutes for them to get the cranes ready.  I decided to drive around and take a few pictures while I waited, but I should have stayed because by the time I drove back around, there was already a stone in the air on it's way to the top of the temple.
I took this picture on my way around of the awning for the doors that is being constructed.

When I came back around, this slab of stone was in the air.  I watched for awhile as the crane slowly lifted it up.

In the Details ~ January 18 2021

The beautiful detail stones are going up fast.  the south side of the temple has them all the way to the roof.  I was excited to get back to the temple to get some better detail shots.  Last time they were a bit blurry since I didn't notice the details until I got home.  Here are some better ones.  I am more and more in love with this them everyday!

Just like I didn't notice these beautiful details until later, sometimes in our lives, we don't realize just how much Heavenly Father is in the details of our lives until we have a chance to look back and notice them.  He is always there, weather we notice Him or not.

It is in these details that when we notice them, we know that  what He has done, He did just for us.

When I saw these details on the temple, I felt that they were placed there just for me.  I also know that most people who live in this area will feel the same way, because we all have a love for the beautiful lake and mountains that surround us, that is why many of us moved here!  But that doesn't make these details any less personal to me, it just helps me feel connected to everyone else who loves them too.

The temple is looking a bit lopsided with all that beautiful stone on the south side.  I am sure the stone on the north side will be in place before we know it.

I didn't notice this large courtyard area of this building before today.  I am curious what it will be used for.

I am getting pretty excited to see what the steeple will look like once it gets stone on the outside.

The Mountain of the Lord ~ January 5 2021

I noticed something today.  And I got so excited.  And then I showed my husband and I cried, because I feel like this detail was chosen just for me.  There are some new detailed stone pieces going in at the top of the temple.  I haven't heard anything about what the theme for our temple will be.  But I've been sooooo curious! I have seen the themes that have been chosen for other temples that were chosen from the history of the area or some other meaning that has to do with the church. These are things like sunstones on the Nauvoo temple, beehives on the Salt lake temple, apple blossoms in the Payson temple.  Well, today I found a little glimpse of what the Saratoga Springs temple theme is as I zoomed in on one of my photos.  What do you see?
I see a sunrise over our mountains and a lake just below the mountains.

One of my favorite gospel analogies of all time is comparing a mountain to a temple.  We have shared this analogy with young men while hiking Mount Timpanogos.  I have shared it with young women, at young women's camp.  And we have shared it with our children during our hikes and camping trips.

One of the places I "hear Him" best is in the mountains or in nature.  One of the things I love most about living in Eagle Mountain is that I can always look out to our beautiful mountains and I feel peace.

Today I found mountains and lakes and a sunrise on the temple.  I couldn't ask for a more perfect theme for our new temple.

A peek through those windows, and you can see a staircase. I wonder what it will look like when it is done.

Another new thing I noticed today is that the stake center has a steeple.  It is a beautiful building that compliments the temple perfectly.

These are the photos I zoomed in on to find the mountain details on the temple.
